The Givi I have looks like the one with the handle that pops up when you turn the key at 2:25 in the video. But to OPEN the box, the button you press is underneath that handle. The handle pops up, and then you press the button underneath. The key broke. So I had to replace the lock. But when I put the box back together, whenever the handle closes now, it pushes the button that pops the latch for the lid, causing the box to open. It appears to me that there's a small kind of cavity that that button is supposed to go into in the handle, so that this won't happen. I'm assuming this means it's misaligned. But I cannot seem to get it aligned properly. Any advice for me? Or is there another video? Thanks.

For those of us running tubes in adv tires, it would be very helpful to comment on how stiff the sidewalls are as in which ones will be a major PIA to service roadside w/ small hand tools 100 mi from the nearest shop. None of these tire reviews seem to factor that in, which is something important for the use experience.

I am looking to fit a pair of these to my Scram 411. I think they'll enhance the street scrambler look of the bike. Also reducing the wind chill factor is worth considering. I've never heard of KAOKO Cruise Controls. They might be worth a look!

Great product for the need, But it may end up lubing specific links that too randomly, The product should have been designed in a way thAt when bike is in 1st gear, and speed is left consistent less than 5kmph (or pistop speed,), it drops oil per link and indicates a go ahead after it has finished with the count of last link and then it should disengage after bike moved out of pitstop speed/5kmph, oiling at 5k rpm.. oil is lost in wind With esystem but no link counter is not worth the price

I am here because the old xvz1200 bike I recently resurrected is slipping clutch when I really lean into the throttle. Thinking it could be the oil. On the testing I just dumped in some 10w30 synthetic I had. The viscosity rating is correct per the manual. But it is fully synthetic high end car oil. Time to dump it and out in some cheap Dino oil.

Thanks for the info. But I'm still not convinced that cleaning a chain isn't a pain in the rear. A real pity that most manufacturers don't offer a midsize bike that is either belt driven or shaft driven.

Hmmm. If a person is doing hard riding in curves. I can see matching tires. But people who don't push their motorcycle to the limits. Highly unlikely that it will ever matter to use two different brands of tires. Is it actually possible to have a rear tire cause the front tire to lose traction? Or front tire to cause the rear tire to slip out? Probably not.

  • @UKenGB

Denali drive me nuts. Trying to make it simple and Plug'n'Play is admirable, but their decision of what is on and when may not suit everyone. Easy enough to make your own wiring harness, but have to know what wires on the Denali devices do what. I've managed to obtain what the 3 wires to the actual spots are, but the DataDim module has 6 wires. I completely understand what is required for all this, but Denali won't say what those 6 wires are to the DD module. I shouldn't have to guess and potentially damage something. I bought their product and it'll be easy to wire up, but in order to do so, I HAVE to know what the connections are. They should stop being so secretive and actually be helpful to their customers who need actual information about the product. Being so secretive is simply stupid and dumb and does not encourage customers to buy more Denali products. Quite the opposite in fact.

I have to wonder if the lack of "anti friction modifiers" in motorcycle oil just causes more accelerated wear of the transmission and cylinder liners in a motorcycle? I bought a brand new 2002 Ninja 600, and ran only 10W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic car oil in it, from the first 500 miles onward. I ran that bike as hard as possible for 11,000 miles over 10 years, frequently with a passenger, and took it to the drag races many times, and the clutch and engine were in mint condition. The clutch was in brand new condition after all that riding, although I never took the engine apart to check it, the engine sounded the same as it did when new, and the clutch didn't vibrate or shimmy or shutter, it always worked perfect. Many Hayabusa riders use T6 Diesel truck oil in their Hayabusa, others use the cheapest Walmart oil, and never have a problem.

i think car oil in motorbike danger is overblown. Also most authors don't know much but pretend to know so. Been mixing car synthetic with car MINERAL oil to get the viscosity i wanted. I ride a 250cc which revs higher than other bigger cc bikes Funny that critics say car oil has friction modifier and additives that could harm motorbike trannie and motor while at the same breath, saying motorbike oil has MORE friction modifier and additives than car oil to handle the extra stress. LOL, which is it, less or more better? I have added some moly slip (MoS2) concentrate into my motorbike oil, expert say it would ruin or slip up my clutch. No problem for me but it sure reduce drag on down shifting which is good becoz it mean less engine friction/wear. I tell u, many self claimed experts on youtube and internet repeat info others author/blogger. Blind following blinds, nothing new added. You can see it by them saying similar messages. Most conclude with go with your manual spec so to negate potential liability issue. I really hasn't learn from them so i had to come up with my own formulation that balance cost vs result

Nice video, I do have a question for all you people that are smarter than me. This question is strictly for a heavy high HP/Torque street bike that will never see dirt. Here's my dilemma, finding tires from the same manufacturer in the same model leaves me with 2 tire choices (I have uncommon tires on my bike I'm told). Both tires I can find are made for straight line high mileage type of riding and are not very grippy. That is not the type of riding I do; I stick to short Curvey rides and want traction over longevity. This means I either need to choice tires from tow different manufacturers to get tires geared towards better traction and less miles that I want or go up one size on my front tire (this is a more common size I'm told). I had decided that going up one size on my front tire was the safest way to go and then I could get the same tire front and rear, a matching set. Then I spoke with my local shop and they told me that they wouldn't mount a different size than OEM for liability reasons but would mount different tires from different brands as long as they were matching radials or bias ply. So I called several tire manufacturers and they all told me that they don't recommend different model tires front and rear, even if from the same manufacturer. I called another local shop and they told me they have been mounting different brand tires on the front and rear for 20 years with no problem. Now I have many different opinions and I don't know what to do. Do I get matching tires that aren't made for the type of riding I do and sacrifice traction and possibly safety or do I find tires from different manufacturers made for similar riding types and get those and possibly sacrifice safety as well?
